To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Electrified GV70. But it costs extra on the Polestar 4.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Electrified GV70’s standard Downhill Brake Control allow you to creep down safely. The Polestar 4 doesn’t offer Downhill Brake Control.

The Genesis Electrified GV70 (built after April 2024) has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2025 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, and an “Acceptable” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test. The Polestar 4 has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2025.

The Electrified GV70 comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The 4’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

Genesis’ powertrain warranty covers the Electrified GV70 6 years and 50,000 miles longer than Polestar covers the 4. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Polestar 4 ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are almost 7 times as many Genesis dealers as there are Polestar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Electrified GV70’s warranty.

The Electrified GV70’s electric motors produces 211 more horsepower (483 vs. 272) and 263 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 253) than the Polestar 4’s standard electric motor. The Electrified GV70’s electric motors produces 10 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 506) than the Polestar 4’s optional electric motors.

For greater off-road capability the Electrified GV70 has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Polestar 4 (6.9 vs. 6.5 inches), allowing the Electrified GV70 to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Electrified GV70 is 5 inches shorter than the Polestar 4, making the Electrified GV70 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Electrified GV70 Prestige uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Polestar 4 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Electrified GV70 has .5 inches more rear headroom and .6 inches more rear shoulder room than the Polestar 4.

The Electrified GV70 has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Polestar 4 with its rear seat up (28.7 vs. 18.6 cubic feet). The Electrified GV70 has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Polestar 4 with its rear seat folded (56.5 vs. 54.2 cubic feet).

HD Radio boasts several benefits over conventional radio: superior sound quality with clearer and consistent FM broadcasts, CD-quality audio, and Multicast Channels offering up to four streams from a single station, adding programming choices. Cars like the Electrified GV70 equipped with HD Radio provide an improved in-car entertainment experience. The Polestar 4, devoid of this technology, foregoes these benefits. Selecting the Genesis Electrified GV70 empowers drivers to enjoy a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience while on the go.

The Electrified GV70 has a 115-volt a/c outlet in the cargo area, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Polestar 4 doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The Electrified GV70 Prestige’s Smart Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Smart Parking Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Polestar 4 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The GV70 was chosen as a Car and Driver’s “Top Ten” for 2025 and 2 more times in the last 3 years. The Polestar 4 has never been chosen by Car and Driver in their “10Best” issue.
